Every Thanksgiving we take family photos in the back yard of my aunt and uncle’s house, right in front of my granddad Mac’s barn that we appropriately call the Mac Shack. I’m never disappointed with the photos that come from these quick, amateur photo sessions and they’re often among the ones I choose to enlarge or post on social media.
We never try to coordinate outfits, though this would be something good to try to do – but I was a little too excited about how well their clothing choices matched this sheet of 12X12 cardstock from the Carta Bella Our House line.
I used my silhouette to create the title (and because I kept forgetting to change my blade settings it was a bit frustrating, but I’ll try to forget that). After everything was cut I realized that you couldn’t even see the letters against the page so I used my Faber Castel pen and sloppily went around the edges to create interest and texture and bring the words off the page. In the end, the plan worked.
I used the Carta Bella Epherma and Carta Bella tags and frames to add fun around the images and then embellished with the Carta Bella Cabin Fever enamel dots and a little bit of Bo Bunny Pearlescents in Butterscotch.
Finally, I just drew straight lines at angles on the edges of the page to give it a little texture. Viola! November is in the book!
