I’m excited to share these easy flowery DIY Planner clips with you because I’ve been in the dark this whole time about just how easy it is to make your own planner supplies.
I see all sorts of really great planner clips out there – and I’ve bought several of them myself to use both in my planner and in my work composition notebook to easily flip to important pages.
Some of these clips are really expensive and while cute, I haven’t found many that match my over-all planner style.
I’ve seen tutorials on Pinterest but I usually don’t have the supplies in my stash – I sought out a way to create a clip using exactly what I already had.
I think these Flowery DIY planner clips turned out pretty cute. They took 5 minutes and they’re sturdy as can be.
DIY Planner Clips Supplies:
- Paper Flowers (I had these on hand)
- Paper Clips (these metalic ones came from Dollar General for a buck)
- Paper (I used cute scrapbook paper but you can use any)
- Quick Dry liquid glue
You can also create your own paper flowers using punches or twisting streamers to create rosettes – really, the possibilities are unlimited. I like the pre-made paper flowers I chose because I already had them on hand and they are actually pretty sturdy on their own.
Cut paper in a strip about 1/4″ wide and a little under 3/4″ long (I still can’t read a measuring tape).
Fold the paper around the end of the paper clip, gluing the paper together in the center of the clip both times.
Glue your flower on top and hold it until dry (this is why we use quick dry cause who has time to sit and pinch a paper flower?)
I sat here thinking I couldn’t make my own clips because I didn’t have the things I needed to make them attach to the paper clips. Glad I was wrong. I am now brainstorming all sorts of ideas to share here because you can never have too many planner accessories!
I’d love to see what you come up with using paper as a base for your planner clips! Tag me in the pictures on Facebook, Instagram or Pinterest!
